It was a long summer, but the end had to come at last. We had some flowers through a mild October, but we finally had to trim everything back in November. It was so sad. I can't wait to see what survives the winter and get started on the 2nd year!
We didn't get much snow through the first part of the winter, but beginning mid-February 2003 it was a couple of inches (at least!) a week. And it got COLD!! (OK, we know we're not supposed to use plastic sheeting to wrap the roses, but we waited too long and couldn't find burlap and straw. Next year ... )
