The pictures at the right show the house as it looked in early May 2002 before I started working on the front at the top, and under that is how the front yard looked the end of September. I know it doesn't look like much in these small photos, but there are more pictures and close-ups of some sections in the Front Yard section. Trust me, there's a lot of work that went on between these two pictures! OK, so you want to see results clearly. Take a look at the before and after pictures of the back yard (below).
On the left is the yard in November of 2001, taken during the inspection before I closed on the house. The picture on the right was taken in August, 2002. Of course, there are a lot more changes to the back than to the front. There is more room to work with, for one, and we both had ideas of things we wanted added. The most prominent change is the addition of several rose beds. You can see more in the Back Yard section.

I closed on my first house on December 20, 2001, and started moving in December 31st. So 2002 was the first year in the house -- and the first year for the gardens. There wasn't much to start with, nothing I wanted to keep, anyway. Since the back yard faces south, and my roommate wanted to grow roses, I essentially turned the back yard over to him. A couple of areas reflect my input, nonetheless. The front yard, though, is all mine.
